Silent Auction for Noel Young
Saturday April 16th 6:00 to 9:00pm
Noel is a 8yr old boy who suffers from Chronic
Granulomatous Disease (CGD) - a rare genetic blood
disorder that is both chronic and life threatening.
After nearly 5 years of complicated treatments, many
surgeries and waiting for a bone marrow match
doctors had run out of treatment options.
A match has now been found - which is
GREAT news! However because of the rare nature
of Noel's illness and the complexities involved, the
transplant, treatment and aftercare needs to take
place at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in
Bethesda, Maryland USA. Noel and his Mom are
likely to be there from 4 to 12 months. The
Alberta Government does not cover travel and living
expenses so all funds raised from the Art Auction
will go directly to help defray expenses. The
family is entering the next stage of a very tenuous
and difficult journey, with Noel's older brother
Ethan and their Dad staying in Calgary.
We all appreciate your support!
